Al-Jazeera English, which, with few exceptions, has been rejected by cable systems in the U.S. and which has been attracting hundreds of thousands of viewers to its live Internet coverage of the events in Egypt, is now urging its Internet viewers to demand that cable networks give it an outlet in the U.S. "Demand al-Jazeera in the USA," reads an ad on its site. By clicking on the ad, a viewer is linked to a form that can be sent to cable companies. "Al-Jazeera English is dedicated to providing a voice to the voiceless, and now you have the opportunity to have your voice heard. Email, call, fax or write your cable or satellite operator now to demand that they carry al-Jazeera English. Your voice truly matters," the form says.
Many ticket-holders couldn't get into the O2 Arena show on Tuesday night (September 19th) because they didn't bring photo ID to match their booking.
An album re-release, a new song and a documentary mark the singer's legacy this year.
