Former GUNS N' ROSES drummer STEVEN ADLER is optimistic singer Axl Rose will join the rest of the band's legendary line-up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of classic album APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION.
On Saturday (28Jul07), Adler was reunited with guitarists Slash and Izzy Stradlin and bassist Duff MCKagan at a Los Angeles' Key Club event marking 20 years since Appetite For Destruction's 1987 release.
Although Rose, the only original member of Guns N' Roses still in the band, didn't attend the celebration, Adler is confident the reclusive frontman will change his mind and meet up with his former bandmates.
Adler, who has battled drug addiction, says, "I believe I made it this far for some reason. I want to finish what we started, and with the love and support I got from those guys, I think we can (reunite).
"I'm gonna leave it up to Axl. That's gonna be Axl's call, and I love Axl and I know he'll make the right call."
'Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing)' arrives in April.
The two awards have made for a great 72nd birthday present for the country music icon.
