Mexican actress Irma Lozano has lost her cancer battle at the age of 69.
The telenovela star passed away on Monday (21Oct13), according to Mexican newspaper El Universal.
Lozano was diagnosed with salivary gland cancer earlier this year (13), following a visit to the dentist for a toothache that was subsequently discovered to be a cancerous tumour in her cheek.
The actress was best known for lending her voice to the Spanish-dubbed version of I Dream of Jeannie and for her roles in Rubi, Un Gancho al Corazon and Destilando Amor.
Lozano leaves behind two children, who are both actors - Maria Rebeca, from her first marriage to Jose Alonso, and Rafael Omar, her son from her second marriage to Omar Gonzalez.
