British actor Barry Howard has died at the age of 78.
The Hi-de-Hi! star passed away on Thursday (28Apr16) following a battle with blood cancer.
"The much loved actor Barry Howard, best known for his exquisitely supercilious Barry Stuart-Hargreaves, the champion ballroom dancer in BBC's hugely popular Hi-De-Hi, passed away today aged 78," his agent Sharry Clark told BBC.com.
Howard began his career in the theatre, but moved on to TV roles in shows including The House of Windsor, Doctor Who and TV movie His Favourite Family.
In Hi-de-Hi!, he played a camp ballroom dancing instructor alongside Dianne Holland.
