Former New Order and JOY DIVISION star Peter Hook is spearheading a new TV talent search in Britain.
The bass player will host new show The Source at his Manchester, England club The Factory with Peter Gabriel onboard as a mentor.
The pair will be among the music industry's famous faces who will assess a host of unsigned acts, who will compete for viewer votes.
Hook says, "Those other talent shows are bulls**t, they're just made for TV not for the music. This is real, it's irreverent... As a musician I'm supporting The Source because it will give unsigned artists the exposure they need."
The new show will air daily on satellite TV in Europe from 12 September (10) and the overall winner of the talent contest will win $15,000 (£10,000) and a record deal.
Music fans will get the chance to vote for the 120 acts that will compete for the title online at the end of August (10).
