Grammy-winning singer Nelly Furtado planned to be a professional athlete - but gave up after losing all her races. The MANEATER hitmaker was more interested in sport than singing, but soon realised she wasn't talented enough to make it. Furtado then considered a career in creative writing before eventually concentrating on making it in the music business. She says, "I wanted to do creative writing at university, to write books and poems. "I briefly wanted to be an athletics star but I gave up on that in high school because I never won a race."
