Neil Young will be saluted as the 2010 MusiCares Person of The Year.
The pre-Grammy Awards accolade will be presented to the rocker at a star-studded tribute gala two days before the 52nd Grammys on 31 January (10).
Neil Portnow, president of the MusiCares Foundation and The Recording Academy, insists the 63 year old was an obvious choice because he represents a high standard "of artistic integrity and iconoclastic creativity".
Young will become the 20th MusiCares Person of The Year. This year's honouree was Neil Diamond.
