Neil Diamond's new album is creating such a buzz among music executives at Columbia, they've pushed the release back so they can market the project properly.

The SWEET CAROLINE singer has been working with producer Rick Rubin on the comeback album and planning for a September (05) release, but the project is now set to be one of Columbia's big releases in November (05), amid the lucrative Christmas (05) market.

Rubin tells music industry trade magazine Billboard, "It's mostly acoustic. It's a very personal record. It's stripped-down Neil."

The album will be Diamond's first album of original material since 2001's THREE CHORD OPERA.
