Nathan Sykes is feeling ''frustrated'' following an operation to save his voice.
The Wanted singer underwent surgery last week on a haemorrhaging nodule and has been ordered not to speak for seven days to help with his recovery.
He tweeted on Friday (19.04.13), the day after his operation: ''Morrrnin!! Tough day yesterday. Now onto a week of not talking. Joy.(sic)''
He added the following day: ''Frustrated. Just want my voice back.''
And the 20-year-old star is also experiencing pangs of homesickness for the UK, and is particularly missing his pet cat.
He tweeted: ''LA, I love you ... but nearly 2 and a half months without being home is killing me.
''My cat isn't even gonna remember who I am when I get home ... sad times. (sic)''
Nathan's operation has caused problems for The Wanted - which also comprises Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Max George and Tom Parker- as they had been planning to record their next album before embarking on a huge tour later this year, but have had to delay their commitments until he is recovered.
A source said ahead of the singer's surgery: ''It's not good at all. Nathan has battled with throat issues for a while but this is far more serious.
''After the once-over by the specialist, he was instructed to have almost immediate surgery. Naturally Nathan is really worried as if it doesn't work, his career is over.
''The rest of the band are not only concerned about him but also about the group.
''It will be tricky to continue without him as vocals will have to be changed. All their worldwide commitments are having to be put on hold.''
