Rappers Nas and Rakim are planning to collaborate for the first time after chatting about the prospect of teaming up on record in an MTV interview. Reporters recently sat down with the two MCs, who are often compared to each other, to talk about the state of rap music in 2006, and the interview quickly turned into a chat about a collaboration. Rakim mused, "We been talking about this for a long time. Our people around us been talking about it and the whole world, but it's about time, man. "We gotta do a joint together, man. We gotta do a joint." Nas countered, "It's done. I'm glad you brought that up."
