Rumours the pair were an item sparked after the pair were spotted on a night out in London just days before Idris split from girlfriend Naiyana Garth in February (16).
However the supermodel says those who assumed she and The Wire star are an item have come to the wrong conclusion.
''I don't know why (people thought we were dating)," she tells U.S. radio show Sway In The Morning. "Because I've known Idris for like for 10 to 15 years, 15 years. And when he takes a picture of me on my fashion events for my charity, no problem there. All of a sudden, bing-bam-boom, we're a couple."
The British beauty went on to slam those spreading the rumours after Idris' split for attempting to push her and her close friend into a romantic relationship.
"It's craziness," she adds. "I mean we are very good friends. I trust him. We have a great friendship. I mean, I've never had the press push me to be with someone and it's so wrong. ''I love him as a friend dearly. I always will. So that part they got right but they got it in all the wrong context."
Idris has also commented on his love life this week (beg28Mar16), saying a break in his work schedule made his split from Naiyana especially tough.
"‘When I’m not acting is when my life falls to s**t," he told Esquire Magazine. "It’s really interesting. I’m going through this b**s now ‘cos I’m not on a film set. Had I been on a set I wouldn’t even have noticed."
Idris' struggles in the wake of the split are not the first time turbulence has struck in his love life. He has had two marriages end prematurely.
His first marriage to Hanne Nordgaard, mother of his teenage daughter Isan lasted four years. While his second to American lawyer Sonya Hamlin ended in annulment just four months after they tied the knot in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2006. He has a son Winston, 23 months, with ex-girlfriend Naiyana.
