British singer-turned-TV presenter Myleene Klass was attacked by a gang of youths in a shop near her London home earlier this week (begs05DEC05).

Klass, who found fame in HEAR'SAY after winning UK TV talent contest POPSTARS, had a bag of chips (fries) poured over her head in a newsagent in Bermondsey.

According to her manager Simon Jones, the 27-year-old - who ironically fronts an anti-bullying campaign - was confronted by three girls and two boys who pushed her to the ground, before one attacker said, "Shall I bitch slap her?"

Jones says the perpetrators then tried to take pictures of the distressed Klass, who has reported the attack to police, on their mobile phones.

He says, "They started singing (Hear'Say hit) PURE AND SIMPLE - I am going to kill you.

"The whole point of the anti-bullying campaign was to say, 'Look, speak out about this.'

"She wants to get the message across about how important it is to report this kind of incident to the police."

Hear'Say split up in 2002; Klass now presents hit British television show CD:UK.
