Review of New York Boy Single by Gloss

News & Reviews
1. Gloss "New York Boy" (12" - Nude Records)
Opening with an Elvis Costello Hammond and a verse scarily similar to Jody Foster's solo in Bugsy Malone, "New York Boy" is the follow up to Gloss's well-received debut "Lonely In Paris". It's the twee side of pop, a thrash injected Cardigans number with that cute female vocal that always manages to charm the listeners.

The second track "Sleepless Night" adds a lot more sentimentality by chilling things out, employing an early Tracy Thorn-esque guitar riff and a chorus that could get even the most jaded of eavesdroppers swaying.
