Snow Patrol – Headline set

At last year's Get Loaded in the Park festival in London, Snow Patrol wowed the crowd with a show-stopping… DJ SET!! Having enjoyed the day so much and the whole Get Loaded revelry, the logical next step was for us to this year ask the band to perform live. And what a perfect time too, as they look to emulate the success of 2004's two million selling "Final Straw" debut album with their new collection of songs - "Eyes Open". Having supported U2 across Europe and appeared at Live8 in both Hyde Park and Scotland last year, 2006 looks set to be the year when Snow Patrol sore to even greater new heights, with the Get Loaded crowd awaiting them with baited breath on Coopers Field!!

Main Stage magic…

Joining Snow Patrol on this stage with be a plethora of amazing live acts, covering all musical genres spread across the day. Acclaimed singer/songwriter Badly Drawn Boy will undoubtedly draw in the crowds as he makes a special guest turn, as do one of Liverpool's favourite sons Echo & the Bunnymen – they of Doors-inspired psychedelica and dark, swirling post-punk. The afternoon's entertainment will be brought to life by pioneering US hip-hop hippies, De La Soul. Expect Cardiff to erupt as the famous trio unleash classic cuts like "Magic Number" and "Me, Myself and I", whilst the multi-talented (and multi-tanned!) Cuban Brothers will be debuting their full 8 piece live band onto the Get Loaded crowd for the very first time. Having reformed especially for last year's Get Loaded shows, The Farm will be getting on the 'groovy train' for more baggy-magic, together with the best tribute band in the business The Complete Stone Roses! Watch out for an exclusive festival appearance from Myspace sensation Lily Allen. Described as a cross between The Streets and Lady Sovereign, by the time she reaches Cardiff, Lily Allen will arguably be the biggest new UK act this summer as her debut hit LDN will be on the tips of everyone's tongues! Watch this space. DJ sets come in the shape of indie kings and singers of England's 2006 World Cup anthem – Embrace, the Hacienda Soundsystem featuring Peter Hook (New Order), Graeme Park and Bez (Happy Mondays). With Get Loaded's regular hosts The Cuban Brothers focusing on their full live show in Cardiff, the honour of hosting this prestigious event with left in the (more than capable) hands of Welsh TV prankster Pritchard from Dirty Sanchez. Heaven knows what he'll have planned for the day, but we're sure where there's high jinks and capers, our boy Pritchard will be there!! Another cult Welsh star – Howard Marks, will also be on site as he will be performing a very special "Audience With" on the main stage. "The most sophisticated drugs baron of all time", will be reading exclusive extracts from his forthcoming new book (the follow up to Mr Nice) for the very first time in Wales, so whatever you do – D O N O T M I S S I T !!

The Other Stages…

Established South Wales promoters Secret Garden, will be hosting the Get Loaded Dance Tent, having built up a formidable reputation over the past 5 years for putting on some of the strangest parties in the most bizarre locations! The theme for Get Loaded will be Safari – embracing all things jungle, animal dancers and life size animal puppets!! Global superstar Josh Wink will be keeping the electro freaks happy as he makes a special guest appearance, plus everyone's favourite Unkle James Lavelle and UK acid-house pioneers Justin Robertson and Jon Carter who'll also be bringing the rawkus beats to Cardiff, alongside The Secret Garden residents. A short dance away, the Get Loaded Second Stage will be rocking out to the sound of the future, as Cardiff's leading live music venues the classical Coal Exchange, Newport's legendary TJS, plus Barfly present some of our favourite breakthrough acts of 2006. The epic 65 Days of Static take centre stage with an eclectic mix to follow featuring Welsh popsters The Victorian English Gentleman's Club, Irish pop-rock girl group The Chalets, grime star Lethal Bizzle, the 50's influenced (The) Pipettes and the totally bonkers Misty's Big Adventure!! Support comes from Barfly residents Mad-4-It and Flyswatter.
