Ever wanted to fly over your own hometown or neighourhood whilst piloting your very own plane, on a Flight Simulation game for your personal computer?
Leading Cambridge-based Flight Simulation games publisher Just Flight,
established aerial photographic company Getmapping, and software developer, Visual Flight, have joined forces to release the first flight simulation upgrade to Microsoft's multi-million selling Flight Simulation series. Due for a UK release at the end of October, VFR Photographic Packs will be sold initially by region, across England and Wales. The first is to include East and South East England and the 3 CD-ROM pack will retail for around £29.99.
Get Mapping is England's leading aerial photography publisher and this is their first venture into PC gaming. This award winning company has
photographed the entirety of England and Wales and much of Scotland as part of the prestigious Millennium Map project, the first complete digital aerial image of the UK.
VFR Photographic Scenery is the first in the history of Flight SIM games to allow players the opportunity to actually fly over England and Wales. The scenery is created by mapping actual aerial photography on to terrain in a format that can be displayed by Flight Simulator 2002.
As Just Flight's Managing Director, Mungo Amyatt-Leir commented, "This is quite simply the most incredible upgrade to Flight Simulator I have ever seen. The reaction of users seeing their own street and local landmarks is infectious. This is definitely going to be the fastest selling expansion for the world's favourite flight simulation yet - with the potential for taking PC-based flight simulation to a wider audience than ever before."
