The MTV Europe Music Awards face being thrown into chaos on Thursday (02NOV06) after taxi drivers in the host city of Copenhagen threatened a road blockage. Danish taxi union Greater Copenhagen Taxi Driver Association is demanding the capital gives its drivers the sole responsibility for transporting the celebrities and guests on the night. However, city officials gave MTV organisers approval to seek their own drivers, who the taxi union claim do not have authorisation or correct training for such events. Union spokesman JOERGEN EGEMARK says, "They want to take our bread and butter." The union have vowed that 1,000 of the city's 2,350 cab will block roads around the airport and the awards' venues.
