The Parents Television Council, the organization that mobilized its members to flood the FCC with complaints about what it regards as indecency on television, has launched a protest against MTV and its Savage U host, Dan Savage for remarks he made at a National High School Journalism Convention in Seattle earlier this month. Savage pointed out at the time that anti-gay bullies often cite scripture in support of their attacks and noted that at one time scripture was also cited to defend slavery. Even while he was speaking several members of his audience were walking out. On Monday the PTC accused Savage of mounting a campaign to promote promiscuity on college campuses and said that Savage's speech demonstrated another reason why cable customers should have a choice of what networks come into their homes.
