AMBER PORTWOOD, the television personality and star of 'Teen Mom' was "depressed and threatening to end her life" shortly before police arrived at her home on Wednesday (15th June 2011). Portwood was taken away to an Indiana medical facility after threatening to commit suicide, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Amber's relative called the police from the MTV reality star's home after the 21-year-old began talking about committing suicide. Detective Mitch Carroll said in a statement, "Late this morning (11:34 a.m.), Anderson Police responded to a call at a residence in the 1300 block of Pleasant Meadow Drive. According to the caller, 21-year-old Amber L. Portwood was depressed and threatening to end her life". The statement notes that Amber didn't appear to be injured but was transported to a medical facility for "evaluation". A representative for Mtv confirmed Portwood was admitted to a local hospital, adding, "Our thoughts are with her and we hope to hear more soon". The news comes after the reality star was recently charged with two felony counts of domestic battery and one count of neglect of a dependent relating to a fight with her boyfriend Gary Shirley.
