Moulin Rouge! director Baz Luhrmann has denied reports he's shelved plans to film a biopic on ALEXANDER THE GREAT - insisting he's still working on the final script.

The Australian film-maker had reportedly scrapped work on the LEONARDO DiCAPRIO-starring project to spend some family time with his costume designer wife Catherine Martin and their young daughter LILLIAN.

But Luhrmann's representatives say he remains onboard, is still working on the final draft of the script and is yet to decide whether it will be his next film.

Director Oliver Stone has already filmed his own version of the Macedonian warrior's life story - with Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie and SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS - which is due out in November (04).
