Rocker Morrissey has scrapped the remainder of his North American tour as he battles poor health.
The former The Smiths frontman was diagnosed with double pneumonia while in San Francisco, California, at the weekend (09-10Mar13), and he cancelled a gig in the city on Saturday (09Mar13). He then pulled the plug on a second performance at the Vive Latino festival in Mexico City on Thursday (14Mar13).
And now he has axed the remaining 22 dates, beginning with a scheduled concert in Lawrence, Kansas, on Monday (18Mar13).
Morrissey has been struggling with health issues since January, when he scrapped a series of dates due to a bleeding ulcer and throat condition Barrett's oesophagus.
A statement from his management company reads: "Despite his best efforts to try to continue touring, Morrissey has to take a hiatus and will not be able to continue on the rest of the tour. Morrissey thanks all of his fans for their well wishes and thoughts."
