Singer Monica has social networking website Twitter.com to thank for the success of her new album - because fans used their blogs to alert her to record stores which had run out of the CD.
The release, Still Standing, stunned chart watchers in America when it topped Billboard's R&B chart ahead of countdown favourite Usher's new record - and Monica insists it all has to do with fans, Twitter and her own efforts to make sure that stores were well stocked.
She explains, "I started telling them (fans) on Twitter.
"They would say, 'I can't find the CD and I'm p**sed, so I said, 'Look, you assist me in doing what I need to do...' I would call into the (record label) office and because of Twitter I would know the store, the location and the amount of CDs that were there.
"We drop-shipped to all these different stores."
