Molly Sims has described her early career as a ''modelling horror story''.

The stunning blonde was left feeling shocked and confused when she was immediately ordered to lose 25 pounds as she tried to make it as a model 20 years ago.

Despite being asked to drop the huge amount of weight from her already slender frame, Molly managed to shed the pounds healthily by being careful with her diet.

She told the New York Post's Page Six: ''I probably lost 25 pounds . . . it was a modeling horror story.

''It ended up being OK. I was healthy about it.''

The 'Sports Illustrated' star thinks today's industry is even worse than when she started out two decades ago and believes the internet has only put added pressure on young girls to stay thin.

She explained: ''There is 10 times more pressure because of the Internet . . . Girls have more things to compare themselves to.''

The 41-year-old mother-of-one even admitted to still being affected by it herself and felt ''jealous'' of Claire Danes' amazing figure just after she gave birth to her son Cyrus in 2012.

She said: ''When someone is pregnant and just had a baby, they expect them to be back to normal in two months. Which is amazing for someone like Alessandra [Ambrosio], who's naturally built like that . . . I got so jealous of Claire Danes, like, 'Oh, my gosh, how did you do it?'.''
