Britain's Mobo Awards have been thrown into chaos after Busta Rhymes pulled out of the ceremony.

Busta had been slated to receive the MUSIC OF BLACK ORIGIN awards' Lifetime Achievement gong at Thursday's (25SEP03) glitzy event, but couldn't fit the date into his schedule. After some hectic meetings, organisers have decided to award the gong to soul legend George Benson instead.

A source says, "MOBO was all set to honour Busta and get him to perform live at the ceremony. But his schedule was too tight and he had to turn it down."

Busta is the event's second high-profile miss - despite being nominated for four awards, Beyonce Knowles won't be attending, and many speculate her feud with the evening's host Blu Cantrell is behind her reluctance.

But all is not lost for the MOBOs - LIL' KIM is co-hosting, 50 CENT and DMX will all attend, and THE Black Eyed Peas, Mis-Teeq, Seal and Terri Walker will perform.
