Olympian Mo Farah was hospitalised after collapsing at the finish line of the New York City half marathon on Sunday (16Mar14).
The British long-distance runner and athlete, famed for his double gold medal winning turn at the London 2012 summer games, finished second behind Kenyan Geoffrey Mutai, but the exertion appeared too much for him and he fell to the ground upon completing the race.
Aides and fellow runners raced to help the 30 year old, who received medical attention.
He has now taken to Twitter.com to assure fans he is fine, writing, "Hi guys... I'm doing ok... thanks for the concern... disappointed with today... I gave 110%... couldn't do any more... sorry guys..."
