Miranda Lambert feels lucky to have scored two Grammy Award nominations for her song THE HOUSE THAT BUILT ME - because the song was originally pitched to her fiance, Blake Shelton.
The country star landed her first number one with the track, which on Wednesday (01Dec10) was nominated in the Song Of The Year and Best Female Country Vocal Performance categories for the next Grammy Awards.
But Lambert reveals she nearly missed her chance to record the ballad - it was originally offered to her husband-to-be Shelton.
She tells EOnline.com, "I'm so lucky that I was the one who got my hands on it. The song was pitched to Blake originally for him to cut it and when I heard the song it just hit me so hard. I had a crazy reaction and I started bawling. It takes a lot for me to get to a crying point when I listen to music but it was just one of those songs where I had this feeling about it.
"Luckily I have a great fiance who handed it over to me. I'm sure he wants it back at this point!"
