Supermodel Miranda Kerr has thrown her support behind a children's counselling service in her native Australia.
The brunette beauty, who has a young son with her British actor husband Orlando Bloom, is the new ambassador for Kids Helpline, a telephone and online aid which provides support for troubled young people.
Kerr's role for the charity was announced on Tuesday (11Feb12) and she urged children to use the service if they need help, saying, "I want every child in Australia to know that there is someone who will listen to them, someone who can talk to them, no matter how big or small the issue.
"We all have challenging days, we all go through moments in our lives where we do need advice. I really want to encourage the younger generations to believe in themselves. It's important they have someone to turn to for advice that will help them grow and flourish into little human beings."
