Minnie Driver has finally revealed the identity of her baby's father. After giving birth to her son Harry three years ago, the 42 year-old actress has decided that now is the time to go public with the details. Although she did not reveal the name of Harry's father, she did confirm that he was an episode writer on The Riches - a show in which Minnie starred with Eddie Izzard.
Speaking to The Observer, Minnie explained how she had decided to keep the details private at first, saying "we weren't together and he wasn't directly in the business," she says now, "so I chose to protect him and not have a rain of publicity." The plan did not exactly work, as speculation regarding Harry's father has never been far from the media's collective mind. Now, she says, she no longer feels the need to protect Harry's father. After revealing that she met him as a writer on The Riches, she went on to say "I don't need to protect him any more. He can fend for himself. He's a grown-up." And when asked if he was a good dad, Driver responded by saying "Sort of. He's figuring it out... I mean, he hasn't been that involved; his choice. But he is now."
Minnie Driver also spoke in the interview about her upcoming movie, Hunky Dory, which is produced by Jon Finn, producer of Billy Elliot. The film is a small-budget musical and Driver says of the film "We all sang live, nothing was dubbed, and it was meant to be raw and scrappy. I just don't feel I've totally ticked off the singing movie," before hinting that she'd love to join the cast of Glee.
