LATEST: Country star Mindy McCready was released from hospital on Tuesday (26JUL05), four days after she suffered a drugs overdose that authorities believe was a suicide attempt.
The troubled GUYS DO IT ALL THE TIME singer was found unconscious in a hotel lobby in Pinellas County, Florida last Friday (22JUL05).
Her mother, GAIL INGE, says 29-year-old McCready is feeling "despondent".
She adds, "Every time she seems to get through something, something else happens."
According to the police report, McCready had consumed large quantities of two substances - which they refuse to reveal for privacy reasons - and a significant amount of alcohol.
Police add that McCready had written a four page suicide note, which was handed to them by her fiance, country singer WILLIAM McKNIGHT. In the note, McCready reportedly says goodbye to her family and friends.
A statement by local law enforcement officials confirms there are no plans to press charges. It reads: "No criminal charges are anticipated against McCready or McKnight, and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will be taking no further action in this matter."
DENNIS TOMLIN, who had been McCready's lawyer until Monday (25JUL05) afternoon, recently confirmed his former client was hit with identity theft charges in Arizona last week (ends22JUL05).
McCready has also faced allegations of driving under the influence and a drug violation in the past two years and earlier this year (05) she fell apart in court while testifying against McKnight, who broke into her Tennessee home and beat her until she was unconscious. The couple are thought to have since reconciled.
McCready was scheduled to appear in court on Monday for a probation violation hearing. A judge ordered Tomlin to produce an affidavit from her doctor by Wednesday (27JUL05).
She is also scheduled to be arraigned in Arizona on Friday (29JUL05) on charges of identity theft, unlawful use of transportation, unlawful imprisonment and fraud. Tomlin has told reporters the case involves a con artist who is tricking celebrities out of money and that McCready was cooperating with police before she suffered her overdose.28/07/2005 09:27
