Milo Ventimiglia has signed up for villainous roles in his next two films.

The HEROES actor will star opposite Gerard Butler in the sci-fi thriller GAME.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about his character, the actor said that he is playing "a very interesting futuristic character that's not necessarily in control of himself. I think that's mysterious and cryptic enough."

GAME will be Ventimiglia's second film with directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylorm who he worked with on PATHOLOGY.

He also told the US magazine that he has signed up to star in CHAOS THEORY in which he also plays a villain.

"I'm the bad guy [in Chaos Theory]," he said. "I'm not really a good guy in Game either...Kind of two bad guy roles for the holidays for me."

In HEROES, Ventimiglia plays Peter Petelli, the most powerful of all the heroes.

The second series of US drama, about a group of people with extraordinary powers, failed to gain any nominations for the Golden Globes.

However Milo appears to be staying optimistic, telling Entertainment Weekly: "For the most part, people still walk up to you with smiles on their faces saying, 'I love it. I love it. I love it.'"

He added that occasionally people do say that the first series was better and admitted that he hoped the show would return to "the feeling of the first season".

The show is currently taking a break from filming due to the writers strike in America.

Meanwhile Milo's HEROES co-star, ALI LARTER, has announced her engagement to The Game PLAN actor HAYES MACARTHUR.
