Mike Sorrentino's rehab situation has become clearer, with a source telling the Chicago Sun Times that "it took a village" of his friends to convince the 'Jersey Shore' star of the depth of his alcohol addiction and persuade him to go enter rehab.
Previously TMZ had reported that a rep had given them somewhat of a hazy response in reply to whether 'Sitch' had been checked into rehab, stating "[he] has spent the past several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule." Sorrentino is known for his hard partying and hedonistic approach to life on 'Jersey Shore,' but it seemed like it was catching up with him with several paranoid episodes occurring through season five of the show.
Now a source has told the Sun Times "He has been out of control for a long time and has been saying some really bizarre stuff for months," continuing, "He thought everyone was out to get him, and he'd say things that made no sense. Really nutso." With news that the program is set to be running for a sixth series, it's understood that MTV bosses are keen for 'The Situation' to get himself back on as good a form as possible before filming starts.
