Mick Jagger may have got some satisfaction -- and a lot of laughs -- from his performance as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, but he certainly got no satisfaction from learning that ratings for the show were down significantly from their average for the season. Nevertheless, it garnered bigger ratings than anything broadcast during primetime earlier in the night. It could not be determined if the lower ratings may have been related to the decision by some stations, reported by today's (Monday) Los Angeles Times , to cut out of the program early after Jagger used a four-letter word while performing a number with guitarist Jeff Beck. The newspaper observed that stations are permitted to air such language between 10 00 p.m. and 6 00 a.m. but that individual station managers can "use their discretion."
