SIR Mick Jagger kicked off the British leg of THE Rolling Stones' world tour last night (20AUG06), with a cheeky swipe at the venue fiasco that threatened to scupper the band's plans. The veterans were meant to perform at the new Wembley soccer stadium, but construction delays forced them to relocate to London's Twickenham rugby stadium instead. Wembley is now not due to be ready until June 2007, more than a year late. Jagger told the crowd last night, "This was supposed to be at Wembley. "I think they'll have Wembley ready for the farewell tour of the ARCTIC MONKEYS."
