Singer Mick Hucknell has got revenge on his old record label, by re-recording an album of old songs - without his vocals.

The Simply Red frontman is striking back at the EASTWEST label - which still owns the rights to the band's 1991 album STARS - over a legal matter which means the singer is not able to sing on tracks.

The HOLDING BACK THE YEARS star says, "For legal reasons, I can't sing.

"But they can't stop me re-recording the rhythm tracks, which is what we are in the process of doing."
