Former THE MONKEES star MICKEY DOLENZ can at last use his architecture qualifications - he's won the role of pyramid builder ZOSER in the Broadway production of AIDA.

The rocker, 58, studied architecture at college before his career as a Monkee took off - and he admits playing Zoser alongside DESTINY'S CHILD star Michelle Williams on the New York stage is a dream come true.

He says, "I guess in the end I've managed to combine both those dreams."

"It's been an incredible opportunity for me to do something that is so different. There is nothing like getting out there on a legitimate stage and having to really pull it off."
