New blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens features returning castmembers Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, as well as newcomer John Boyega, but the story focuses mainly on Daisy Ridley's character.

The sci-fi epic looks set to be one of the most successful movies in Hollywood history, and Fast & Furious star Michelle is convinced The Force Awakens will pave the way for more female-focused films.

"It's official now... You can't ever say in Hollywood again that women led films aren't profitable if you put the creative drive, the money, and the talent in the right place magic is always made..." she writes in a post on Instagram.com. "Don't sleep on women worldwide there's a lot of us out there under-served by the dream weavers of Holly Wierd (sic), the revolution seems to be in the theaters, just might be televised after all."

The seventh installment in the Star Wars franchise has been smashing cinema records across the globe since its release earlier in December (15), breaking the $1 billion mark in just 12 days.
