Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan has laughed off a Sunday newspaper story about her taking a legal high in a nightclub. The 25-year-old was shown in pictures published by The People inhaling nitrous oxide, aka laughing gas, at London's Anya nightclub.
The pictures were captioned, "Corrie star on 'hippy crack", though Keegan brushed aside the story on her Twitter page, posting the picture and telling followers, "Oh hell... Apparently I'm a 'crack addict' Hahahaha! Yeah... Ok!". She later joked, "I can't look my family in the eye!! Haha". Keegan called off her engagement to The Wanted star Max George earlier this year - explaining her decision to Fabulous magazine, the actress said, "We're not engaged any more, but not because we fell out or there was an argument. It was just there was no chance of us getting married any time soon because of our schedules. He's away in America most of the time now and we just had a word about it. I'm a traditionalist so if I'm engaged, I want to get married and that's not happening soon". Keegan added that she and Max were still very much in love.
The actress is reportedly being courted to appear on the next series of 'Strictly Come Dancing', though faces a battle with Coronation Street bosses to be given a break from the show. Producers at the Bbc have singled out Keegan as a key target for the forthcoming line-up, though Itv producers are keen for her to remain on the long-running soap.
