Michelle Keegan has confirmed her engagement, saying she "can't wait" to spend the rest of her life with fiance Max George.

The 'Coronation Street' actress - who dated The Wanted hunk for seven months before he popped the question with a £10,000 sparkler earlier this month - explained she is still stunned by the shock proposal, as she "really didn't see it coming".

She said: "Bleedin' heck! I can't believe I'm engaged to Max! It's dead exciting because I really didn't see it coming and I seriously can't wait to spend my future with him."

However, the 24-year-old beauty - who plays brunette bombshell Tina McIntyre in 'Coronation Street' - admitted the couple aren't planning on tying the knot this year, because they're both too busy with their careers.

Michelle added in her column in Love It! Magazine: "The Ring's gorgeous, but we won't be marrying this year - we've got so much going on with our careers.

"And I've got my hands full with my cute seven-week-old chihuahua Pip. Max bought me her as an engagement pressie - she's gorgeous!"

The star recently explained she was getting late-night trains between her home in Manchester and Max's base in London just to spend "an extra hour" with her "caring boyfriend.

She said: "I get late-night trains between London and Manchester just so I can spend an extra hour with him. It's his caring side that's hit me recently. He brings me little treats and he always makes an extra effort."
