The British actress starred as Lady Mary Crawley in the hit period drama, which ran from 2010 to 2015, but reports previously surfaced suggesting producers are considering adapting the show into a movie.

Michelle recently insisted she would "wholeheartedly consider" reprising her role for a film, as she can definitely see the potential to expand the story, but she is not sure how likely it is to come to fruition.

"There is (talk of a film), fingers crossed," she told U.S. morning show Live! With Kelly. "I mean, it's a challenge getting that many actors back together at one time, but I think it will happen; I hope it will.

"I miss the gang and those stunning costumes, and Mary, I do miss the character, I loved playing her," she added, "so fingers crossed we'll get there."

Meanwhile, Michelle has been keeping busy with a number of new TV projects, including new drama Good Behavior, in which she plays a thief, and western series Godless for Netflix, which is due for release next year (17).
