Singer Michelle Branch is going ahead with plans to release her new album on Madonna's MAVERICK RECORDS - despite moves to break away from the music label last month (MAR03).

The 19-year-old brunette attempted to disassociate herself with her former mentor Madonna - she filed a petition with the CALIFORNIA LABOUR COMMISSION claiming she should be released from her contract because Maverick's parent company Warner BROTHERS signed her up for tour sponsorship she didn't want.

But it has now been announced that Branch's next album, HOTEL PAPER, will be released on 24 June (03) on Maverick Records, with the first single from the set, ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?, hitting radio in May (03).

She is expected to preview some of her new material on her upcoming Are You Happy Now? tour - sponsored by hair-care product company THERMASILK - which kicks off on 14 May (03) in San Francisco, California.
