Michael Winner's widow Geraldine and a former lover who received regular cash handouts from the moviemaker have been left struggling to pay their bills since his bank accounts were frozen.
The Death Wish director died in January (13) at the age of 77 and his assets were immediately frozen while lawyers work to sort out his monetary affairs.
His widow Geraldine has condemned the decision to block the release of Winner's fortune, insisting she can't afford to fully heat the couple's $96 million (£60 million) London mansion, and claims she is not the only woman in Winner's life who is suffering financial difficulties.
Geraldine tells Britain's Hello! magazine, "Although Michael assured me that I would be well provided for in his will, I have nothing to live on. His bank accounts have been frozen by his lawyers and it could take months, maybe years, to resolve while they sort out his assets. In the meantime, I'm struggling and yes, I'm very worried and angry.
"Michael would be furious too. Everybody knows that he would never have left me without enough money to live on. He used to say, 'Don't worry, darling, as soon as it happens just ring this man and it will be fixed.' He thought everything would be all right...
"I'm not the only one left in the lurch, either. Michael still looked after one of his ex-girlfriends - a sweet girl who's now on her own - but she phoned me because she's worried she won't be able to pay her mortgage. Michael had told her that she'd still receive her allowance after she died. He would never have wanted us to find ourselves with no money."
Winner wed Geraldine in 2011 after 50 years together.
