Dear MR WINNER,MANY THANKS FOR TRYING TO SAVE THE ODEON KENSINGTON,IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF YOU HAD BEEN ABLE TO HAVEPURCHASED THIS CINEMA, AND THEN HAD RETURNED IT TOA SINGLE CINEMA AS IT USED TO BE IN 1953, WHEN ,I ASA PROJECTIONIST THEN MAY HAVE SHOWN THE FILMS TO YOUAS YOU MAY HAVE BEEN IN THE CIRCLE WATCHING ? YOUNEVER KNOW? THE FILMS; DICK BARTON SPECIAL AGENT-MELODY TIME-THE CALENDER-HAMLET-THE CARTOONS-THEGAUMONT BRITISH NEWS-ETC,AND MAYBE YOUR OWN FILMS ??THOSE WERE THE DAYS,WILL THEY EVER RETURN? I DO HOPE THAT YOU CAN SAVE THIS CINEMA,BUT IS IT TOLATE ? THEY ARE ALL GOING FOR EVER,STILL IS THISPROGRESS ? Dear Mr WinnerI admire you for turning down the OBE (when I worked as a civilian for MOD it was known as "Other Bugger's Efforts". I am sure this does not apply to you.Now tell me, were you in Sheringham (North Norfolk) about 3 weeks ago? I am sure it was you enjoying a cup of coffee/tea by the sea with some friends, if it was not you, you have a double.In your article in the Daily Mail 29th May I quote "They're not a bunch that I pine to dine with. I'd sooner be with ordinary people in a pub ......". This made me wonder, because if it was you by the sea side at Sheringham you were looking very relaxed there. It's a super place to be, especially when uptight about something, the soothing sound of the sea on the pebbles is very relaxing. Please satisfy my curiosity. Yours sincerely - Joan Salter
