Cult actor Michael Pitt is thrilled he starred in sickly teen drama DAWSON'S CREEK because now he knows exactly what kind of role he hates.

The 24-year-old actor - who takes on a Kurt Cobain based persona in forthcoming film LAST DAYS - did not enjoy his recurring guest role on the hit TV series, but used the experience as a learning curve.

And he insists he won't be making use of his TV contacts again.

He says, "Well, it was my first job, you know.

"I think in some ways you learn more from the things you don't like than the things you do.

"What you want, and what you don't want."
