British actor Michael Le Vell has entered rehab to tackle his ongoing personal issues, according to a U.K. report.

The 49 year old took time out of his longrunning role on Tv soap Coronation Street earlier this month (Mar14) after admitting he had taken cocaine in the run up to his child sex abuse trial last year (13).

He has now reportedly checked into a facility to focus on sobriety.

A source tells Britain's Sunday People newspaper, "Michael has finally come to the conclusion he needs help and he has been brave enough to get it.

"He's had the toughest year of his life and as a result has drunk too much and at times indulged in cocaine. However, he knows he has the full support of his family and friends to get better.

"Michael has taken himself away from all temptation and is sorting himself out."

Le Vell has played mechanic Kevin Webster on the beloved show for over 30 years. He was cleared of all charges by a jury in Manchester, England last September (13).
