A woman in Georgia has dropped her paternity suit against basketball ace Michael Jordan.
Pamela Smith accused the former Chicago Bulls star of fathering her 16-year-old son, Grant Taj Reynolds, during a fling back in 1995, and she filed legal papers seeking child support and the cost of medical expenses in February (13).
Jordan vehemently denied the allegations, but last week (begs11Mar13) Smith filed new documents asking a U.S. judge to order the icon to submit to a Dna test to help prove her claims.
And now Smith has decided to retract the suit, though she is legally allowed to re-file at any time.
Her attorney, Randy Kessler, tells Reuters, "She began this case without an attorney and did her best to file what she believed to be a legally appropriate case. She then hired our firm just before the first court appearance. Ms. Smith has relied on our advice and determined that dismissal at this time, without prejudice, is in her son's best interests."
