Michael Jackson's mother Katherine has been suspended as the guardian of the King of Pop's three children following the controversy surrounding her recent trip to Arizona.
Katherine Jackson sparked concerns about her whereabouts and wellbeing last week (ends20Jul12) following conflicting reports about her location.
The 82 year old's nephew, Trent Jackson, allegedly filed a missing persons report on Saturday (21Jul12) after Katherine's grandchildren were refused contact with her as she rested up under doctors' orders with her daughter Rebbie in Arizona, but her son Jermaine spoke out on Sunday (22Jul12) and claimed his mother was "fine", a report which has since been backed up by police following a visit to Rebbie's home.
However, Katherine's sudden disappearance has raised questions over her ability to properly care for Michael's kids Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket, and on Wednesday (25Jul12), their cousin Tj - Tito Jackson's son - headed to court for an emergency guardianship hearing in a bid to temporarily replace his absent grandmother.
During the court appearance, Tj Jackson choked back tears as he recalled a strange phone conversation with Katherine on Tuesday (24Jul12).
He said: "I've never heard my grandmother talk like that. She wasn't sharp. The pauses, choice of vocabulary... she has not used certain phrases like that before."
Judge Mitch Beckloff then approved Tj's petition and named him temporary guardian, stating he had reason to believe his grandmother may be "prevented from acting as a guardian because of the acts of third parties."
Katherine's lawyer Sandra Ribera says, "We have reason to believe that Mrs. Jackson has been held against her will."
