The make-up artist and props expert, who created Michael Jackson's zombie look for the iconic Thriller video and worked on films like the Men in Black and Hellboy franchises, American Werewolf in London and Maleficent, is quitting showbusiness at 64 and auctioning off a large collection of memorabilia from his career.

The seven-time Oscar winner tells radio network KPCC, "The business is crazy right now. I like to do things right, and they wanted cheap and fast. That is not what I want to do, so I just decided it is basically time to get out.

"Big make-up films don't seem to exist anymore."

The auction of his monsters and props will take place at the Hilton Universal City in Los Angeles on Friday (29May15).
