LATEST: Plans by Michael Jackson's family to air a reality TV show have hit a stumbling block - US networks have rejected it.

According to the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, as the jury was still deliberating in the case a family representative was trying to shop a six-part series for the star, revolving around how the THRILLER singer's parents, Joe and KATHERINE, and his eight siblings stood behind him during the lengthy legal battle.

A six-part series was reportedly proposed.

But a representative for US TV network FOX says, "We were contacted. We're passing."

A spokesman for A+E NETWORKS has also confirmed that the network had also been approached but declined the proposition.

A spokeswoman for ABC adds, "We were pitched and we passed."

CBS also received an offer, according to reports, though bosses are yet to make a statement on it.
