LATEST: Michael Jackson plans to call up two of his own kids as defence witnesses in his upcoming child molestation trial.

The THRILLER star surprised the court in Santa Maria, California, when the names of his eldest son, PRINCE MICHAEL I, eight, and daughter, PARIS, six, were read out on a list of possible witnesses yesterday (14FEB05).

Jackson usually goes to great lengths to keep all three of his children - he also has a two-year-old son called PRINCE MICHAEL II - out of the limelight.

Other potential defence witnesses include BACKSTREET BOY NICK CARTER, Quincy Jones, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder and Elizabeth Taylor.

However, Jackson's ex-wife and mother of his two elder children, DEBBIE ROWE, is set to testify against the singer.

Meanwhile, Judge Rodney Melville promised Jackson he will receive a fair trial.

Melville told the court, "I am not bought and paid for. I have not made up my mind in this case and I want to select a jury that feels the same way."

Jackson has pleaded not guilty to plying a boy, then 13, with alcohol, molesting him and conspiring to hold his family captive. He is free on $3 million (GBP1.58 million) bail but must attend the court hearings daily.
