LATEST: Michael Jackson's former bodyguard CHRISTOPHER ERIC CARTER will be transferred from a Las Vegas, Nevada jail, where he's being held on robbery and kidnap charges, so he can testify at his former boss' child molestation trial in California.
Carter, 25, who is being held at the Clark County Detention Center following his arrest last month (19FEB05), is expected to corroborate key elements of the prosecution's case, including allegations Jackson gave alcohol to his young accuser.
The bodyguard told a grad jury in Santa Barbara, California last year (04) he saw Jackson and teenager GAVIN ARVIZO sharing a can of soda filled with wine during a flight from Florida to California in 2003.
The trial judge, Rodney Melville, has requested Carter be transported by sheriff's deputies in time for a court appearance in Santa Maria, California, on 4 April (05). After his testimony, Carter will be transported back to jail in Nevada.
Meanwhile, the child molestation trial continued this morning with additional fingerprint testimony.
Prosecutors have disclosed that they plan to call comedian George Lopez to the stand as a witness on Monday (28MAR05).
Lopez has said that if he is called, he plans to follow Jackson's lead and turn up in court wearing pyjamas.25/03/2005 20:18
