Troubled pop star Michael Jackson's many charities have been slammed for failing to spend any of the money they raise on good causes.
DANIEL BOROCHOFF of watchdog the AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF PHILANTHROPY has blamed Jackson's wandering attention for the fact his charities only spend funds on their running costs, rather than helping the needy - pointing out the singer's HEAL THE WORLD fund has donated money only once in the last four years, and that was to another Jackson charity.
Borochoff says, "They are like his songs. They make us feel good but don't accomplish much good. In the last four years, according to tax forms, they only spent money on themselves.
"Michael gets very enthusiastic about a new charity but doesn't have the patience to carry it out."18/03/2004 13:34
